Texas French Bread, Dinner
An Austin staple, Texas French Bread brings West Austinites closer to campus with its soft baguettes, top notch wine, and all the mussels you’ll ever need.
As explained by them:
We place a heavy emphasis on local and sustainably raised foods.
Our menu combines many of our deepest culinary interests with European bistro standards; the cuisine represents a modern take on the techniques of traditional French country and Mediterranean cooking. We follow Alice Waters’ dictate to seek out the local, the fresh, the simple, the nutritious, and the beautiful, and to serve these in season at their peak.
They recognize the regulars, and make the newbies feel like they’re regulars. Walk in, and you’re seated at a table in dim lighting that feels like home, only you’re surrounded by people you’ve never met who somehow make the place feel even warmer. Once inside, it’s hard to believe you’re in the quickly growing city that so many west coasters now call home. When I want to feel like I’m in 2006 Austin, this is where I go. No matter how full the room, the atmosphere stays at a steady murmur with an inspiring feel to it.
